(CNN) – Cellphone service might improve soon for people who live in or visit remote areas.

Three top mobile carriers are teaming up to tackle dead zones.

They are AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

In a news release, the companies said their joint venture involves enhancing satellite capacity.

That way customers can get signals, even when they’re far away from cellphone towers.
