Stuarts Draft man arrested for alleged felony child abuse and neglect

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Stuarts Draft man Monday on one count of felony child abuse and neglect, according to an ACSO release.

ACSO and Child Protective Services launched an investigation Monday after an infant was treated for a femur fracture at UVA Health, the release said. Steven Couch, 24, was arrested at the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office as a result of the investigation, ACSO said.

The State Magistrate’s Office released Couch on an unsecured bond of $5,000.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time, ACSO said.
