Charlottesville aviation company expands to new horizons
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Little Hawk Logistics, an air charter broker and aircraft owner, has added a third aircraft and a new location in Scottsdale, Arizona. The new Daher TBM 910 is at Scottsdale Airport for charter flights in the west.
Eric Walden, the company’s president and founder, said the expansion will give the business more options.
“What you’re paying for is the ability to go somewhere in a short amount of time so you can maximize the time while you’re there,” Walden said.
Walden said consistent clientele in Charlottesville is helping the business grow. The company is expanding after 12 years in business.
“I feel like this move west is going to diversify the business to the point where it can be very sustainable,” Walden said.
Little Hawk owns three Daher TBM turboprops: two TBM 900s and the new TBM 910. Walden said the TBM can fly close to the speed of a light jet at one-third of the operating cost. The aircraft are among the fastest single-engine turboprops.
The company arranges charter flights operated by 45 North Flight, a Federal Aviation Administration-certificated direct air carrier.
“I have a very strongly established minimum standard, but we don’t go for the minimum. We aim a lot higher than that,” Walden said.
