Missing soldier from Richmond found dead in Africa
RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A Moroccan Military search team found the body of Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., 27, on Saturday morning near the shoreline, near where he and another soldier went missing last week.
Key was an officer in the Army. He earned a marketing degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, before joining the military.
His commanding officers said his presence will be missed.
“Kendrick embodied the highest standards of service as a selfless, inspirational leader whose unwavering dedication to his Soldiers and their development leaves an enduring legacy within our ranks,” said Lt. Col. Chris Couch.
There is no word yet on how Key died.
The other soldier remains missing, but search efforts continue to bring them back home.
