Conference hopes to find answers for rare diseases
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - UVA Health will be hosting a conference to make answers more readily available to families of kids with rare diseases.
The conference will take place June 9-10 and is hosted by Olivia’s Light an organization founded by parents who lost their daughter to a rare condition.
Olivia was treated at UVA Health and her mother Jenna King said she wants to make it so no parent has to suffer through the uncertainty she experienced.
“It wasn’t until she actually passed away when I realized how important those answers were,” King said. “It was scary to think that other children and other families could possibly be going through a similar situation without those answers and Olivia’s Light wanted to do our part in that in helping them get the answers that they need.”
