New Stonewall Harley-Davidson dealership opening this month
RUCKERSVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - After more than a year of construction, the new Stonewall Harley-Davidson dealership is set to welcome in customers in just a couple weeks.
Before it could open, though, the store had a few more pieces of inventory to bring over to its new location.
Thursday afternoon, dozens of Harley-Davidson motorcycles made their way from Orange County to Greene County.
On the bikes were riders from all over, eager to assist the dealership with its new beginning
“We had about 30 or 40 riders, police from Greene County and Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Ruckersville Fire Department escorted us in,” said Stonewall Harley-Davidson co-owner Ken Barner.
Those on the motorcycles represented a number of different bike groups, Harley-Davidson staff members, and customers.
“The bike community is family,” co-owner Evan Bache said.
The store is relocating from Orange County down the road to Ruckersville.
“The building that we were in was old and outdated,” Barner said.
Sitting on Buck Drive off Route 29, the new store broke ground in November of 2023. Since then, the owners said it’s taken a lot of hard work to get to where they are now.
“We got here finally, so it’s pretty cool to me,” Bache said.
The old location in Orange County has officially closed.
Doors to the new location are tentatively planned to open by January 11.
“We’re excited to be in Greene County and have a fresh new start,” Barner said.
