CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The UVA Cancer Center is now accepting submissions for its annual grant program. It will award as many as five $10,000 grants.

Brenna Robinson, Communication and Special Projects Manager at the Cancer Center, says they are looking for projects that focus on screenable cancers.

One of last year’s winners was the Yellow Door Foundation, which provides free housing to families with a child in pediatric cancer care.

Robinson says she is excited to see what the applicants have in store this year.

“We just know our community partners have lots of great innovative ideas,” Robinson said. “We’ve seen so many things coming out with these projects, and we’re just really excited to see what comes with this third year.”

All community groups within the Cancer Center’s service area are encouraged to apply by the end of August.
