CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville group of musicians is celebrating being recognized nationally by a grant.

The Early Music Access Project won a scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts for $10,000.

It was one of only two recipients from the Charlottesville area.

The Early Music Access Project is excited to put this money to use and keep giving performances.

“It’s just such a huge honor. This is out first time winning National Endowment for the Arts funding. We’re just really excited to have some national recognition for Charlottesville and the music that we make,” Artistic Director David McCormick said.

The group’s next public performance will be on March 10 at the Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville.
